Probably 3 or 4 questions there, not 2. But who's counting?

    1. SMFW vs DMFW. Personal preference maybe but being an engineer, I believe in the science behind the DMFW and its purpose to help prevent load shocks to the drive train (transmission gears, 2 prop shaft CV joints, two sets of crown and pinion gears and 8 axel CV joints). Here is some DMFW info that I put together a while back:

    2. An Apikol FMIC, with its 3" core, behind the much thicker NAmerican bumper *just* fits with a minimum amount of trimming. The Euro bumper fits in close to the body by about an inch (25 mm - ish) so I don't think it would work (core is too thick). Here is some C4 UrS bumper info that I have put together to show the differences between NAmerican and Euro and UrS4 and UrS6 bumpers:

    3. Audifans.net has a good write-up of a DIY FMIC with 2.5" thick core with a Euro bumper (and even then the "Euro" bumper has to be trimmed to get enough room for the FMIC):

If you map a K26/K27 to a constant 1.5-1.6 bar, you will have a very flat torque curve.
People map them to 1.9 bar usually though, and obviously it can't flow 1.9 bar at 7000 rpm, that would be in excess of 500hp on a standard head.

It's only a question of mapping.

The problem with a GT is, that if you took a turbo with RS2 turbo sized peak flow and ran it to 1.9 bar with huge taper all the time, it'd fall apart, whereas a KKK can keep going for years.
Dimitri, this is exactly the point I am trying to make.

I had an UrS6 with a high peak boost that tappered signifcantly afterwards. The engine charachter was explosive at first to become 'lame' at the top end. It was a noticable feeling when the boost dropped and you could really feel how the 'pulling' become less pronounced.

This is how I want my power curve and torque curve to look like. Less stress on the conrods also. Dimitri, this could be achieved with some less aggresive tuning in the mid-range right?

        Yeah, can be done.
Always a question of having a certain rev range with a flat torque curve though.

On these engines, if you can do 3000-3500 rpm you're doing pretty good.
That can be 3500-7000, or it can be 4500-7500, all depends.

You might try this for a european URS6

I have just fitted FMIC to my S6, it was a nightmare, I though I had loads of room but didn't. I'll be updating pics in the next few days.
