    S2 1995 serious problems

    Hi,

I have absolutely 0 luck with cars, every one i've had just breaks.

2 days ago after owning it 3 days i look under it to find there's oil dripping out of the underbelly tray thing under the engine, i get the tray out to find it covered in oil and oil appears to be coming from the front of the engine.

So it's booked in the garage for Monday but i go to drive home from work today, i go to accelerate hear a kind of clunk/mechanical noise from what i can only thing is the front and back diff as comes from both ends... the exhaust makes a slight bang noise and the car will not accelerate past this point in any gear. although if you go through the gears will get to 60.

this car is immaculate and looks to be well looked after i really hoped this one would last longer than 1 week

Your in Bristol, could be on oil leak and a boost leak, it shouldn't be too difficult to diagnose and there are a few members in Bristol

Have you checked to see where the oil is coming from?

        thanks for support.

I hope its nothing complicated ... i've lost so much money, time and sanity with cars in the last year i was hoping spending a good amount of money on a well kept example would show me love back haha like I say its booked in on Monday but i didn't know if there was anything to check for.

Have you been able to tell where the oil leak is coming from? Is it from the radiator side? Obviously it could be anything but recently ive seen 2 S2 with the oil pressure swich leaking.

Go and see Leighton @ Pro-Garage in Warmley. He's an ex Audi technician, works mainly on Jap stuff but knows his Bavarian steeds also. His FB page for the address is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pro-G...77151595691765 . If he's too busy you can try AllAudi in Brislington. Ask for Dean or Neil.

Thanks.... from what i can tell that pro garage is a paint shop, they refurbished my Ford Capri alloys for me and someone i went to school works there - i just never knew the name of their company!

i'll check them both out tomorrow

The spray shop is Restomod which is run by James. They share the premises.

If its that much oil is it wise to start let alone drive it?
Check oil level before going far.
                        What engine btw ?

I think it might be your oil cooler by the sounds of it and a boost leak. Boost leak isn't a biggy really.
Just some finishing touches to do now

Its only a drip of oil with the pan off... i think a lot was sitting in that.

so.... on the floor there is maybe a 1.2inch circle max of oil

the oil level doesn't look to have gone down that much but put a glug of synthetic oil in this afternoon - its since that that the odd diff /power issue happened i used 5w 40 from the petrol garage on the grounds that any oil was better than none
