if you does have 3,889 in the rear end, you DON'T have the 4,111 in front( tranny) no chance...and vica verca... you MUST have the same ratio!!!

the b3 diesel did have the brackets in the chassi, not at the subframe.. the petrol (4pot) one did have the enginebrackets at the subframe.....but the markin for the brackets for the chassi, are in the chassiframe...you cant miss it.
to make the brackets fit in the smallchassi /audi 80/90/s2/ rs2/vw32b 5pot you need the chassibrackets from another car; and it HAVE TO BE from a smallchassi....you cant use
brackets from 44q or D11 or c4 chassi; they dont fit at all....
to cut loose this item, you need to cut in the chassiframe, and the cleancut out the brackets
O NOT BEND any part, but cut nicely out the weldin and the small rust, and paint, then you may try it in the chassi you want to use.. and weld it; you dont need to mersure any ether; they fit ONLY at one spot; you have about 2cm to play with in the enginebrackets..

i have done this in my vw 32b (from 4 pot to 5 pot)iits the same chassi frame...
the other isue in the b3 and b4 are the sandplate/ frontplate; there are several verson of these...to place the radiator and fan and all these...
you may fit in a audi a6 5 pot diesel(!!)or the v6(!!!) if you want, in the audi 80 from 1980, if you have nicely weldet in the chassibrackets...they does fit the tranny also ( any tranny)
even the VOLVO 240/ 740/940 gearboxes, if you have the bellhousing for diesel ...(so then you may have only RWD if you want
