    N75 connection missing on RS2

    I am a newbie so pls don't laugh !

I have been experiencing fuel cut off by ecu, black smoke, and many told me that it could due to gas leak and bad MAF connector. Guess what, I found a tube missing from my N75 which, according to the parts diagram, is suppose to connect to some part of the turbo. Could this be the problem of fuel being cutoff under aggressive throttle ?

My older post on my overboost issue : http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56784

If the Turbo coldside nipple is not going to the WGFV then your WG will not open and you will get overboost cut out to stop the engine from destroying itself. The nipple is usually on the front face of the cold side, low down under the MAF hose. Maybe you have a piece of blue hose dangling from it?

I also have a non standard wastegate ( 035145725 ) which I cannot find out which car it belongs to after googling. If I have to replace this, should I go for the orginal 034145705, or any aftermarket unit ?

That looks like a normal wastegate, some of the covers have different numbers, the part number is actually on a little alloy tage which is often missing.

Is the lower chamber of the wastegate connected to the WGFV? I can't quite see if the hose is there in your picture.

You mean connection like in this diagram, connecting to the cold side ?

let me go take more photos now. I have been running the car like this for a few weeks :-( turbo runs well if I keep it at 4-4.5k, but once I throttle hard, ecu cuts fuel and black smoke comes off the exhaust and I can clearly see them in the rear view mirror. If I have done that 30-40 times, what knid of damage would I have done ? The engine oil looks smerky too ! Hope I didn't cause any eternal damage.

Do you have a boost gauge in the car?

LOL. Ya, that *eternal* damage is a beotch. Goes on and on and on and...

(Sorry, language or spell check issue, you meant INTERNAL damage)

I presume you've read through the N75 info in this hot-linked diagram (click on the labels)

What's even worse, my car has an aftermarket blow off valve ! ( see it to the left of the N75 ). My bypass (cutoff ) valve is the OE 0280142108 and 2 sides of it is not connected . Is that normal if one introduced a blow-off valve ? I read somewhere saying that blow-off valve is no good.

                          I am in such a mess !

Depends on the map you have.
If it's cutting fuel, then at least the fuel cut is in tact, might have saved the engine.

But you could have easily bent the rods by now.
You can check if this is the case by inserting a depth gauge into each cylinder through the spark plug hole, and then rotating the engine, then noting the depth at each cylinder's TDC positions (minimum depth).

If it is not the same across all cylinders, you have bent rods in one or more cylinders, usually cylinder 2... IIRC.
Of course, you can do a compression test as well.
                              ---

So, you need to tap the pressure side, preferably as close to the turbo and run a silicone hose to the middle port of the N75 as shown in the diagram.

Also, your dump valve is not recirculated. You have to take the end that is open, and connect that between the turbo and the MAF.
You need a new MAF-turbo hose, one that has all the bungs to accommodate both the N75 and the dump valve outlet.
