Shouldn't you be speaking with your vems supplier about what config you should be using?

if his 3b config was working and he performed the pin swap correctly, only the ignition output table should change. if not, the wiring is wrong. Injector wiring being out of order will not cause a no start. the engine will run perfectly fine with the injectors not run in correct sequential order.

ahh. I think I know whats going on here. The power supply and ground wires and such are different between 3b and AAN. the vems 3b ecu is of course wired differently to match the 3b harness. if you bought a 3b vems ecu what you should be doing is only adding the wiring for the ignition outputs and pinning those into the connector, the rest of the wiring should stay the same as original 3b.

ECU is for an RS2 which is why i carried out a complete pin swap and fitted audi v8 coil packs wired back to the ecu as per the diagram above.

Are you running power supply for injectors through original wiring and fuel pump relay?

power for injectors is from fuel pump relay, my coils are firing but wondering if they are in the wrong order. Crude test i put some petrol in the intake and still won't fire?

How do i check correct firing order against timing?

I've done it before with slow-mo video playback in a dark garage with the plugs layed out on the valve cover. easier with vems is you know the order from your ignition outputs page.. so as long as the output corresponds to the cylinder number you expect (you can test via the ignition outputs visual page) then you should be good on that.

I try the "test" mode and cyl 1 & 2 fire as D and C so all good there! 4,5,3 nothing.

my wiring is 20,21,23 for 4,5,3 cylinders.

                        config as attached ?

What i don't get is how the outputs corrispond to the pin-outs on a plug and play ecu??

You said in your pm that the injectors are noy getting 12v but are getting the pulsed ground fron the ecu output. How are you triggering the fuel pump relay? Does the fuel pump run?

Fuel Pump is running and injectors are firing while cranking.

Finally geting somewhere... i've checked with a voltmeter. My problem is cylinder coil packs not firing for cylinders 4,5 & 3.

Stupid question I am sure..... but are you 10000% sure the coil wiring loom is correct?
