Both Apikol and 034 put 1.8t coil pack kits on the market in April 2006 following the publishing my 1.8t coil pack DIY in the fall of 2005. The harnesses that they built then or the ones people built from my DIY work on the 1.8t, 2.0t, 2.5 TFSI and the recent 4.2L V8 coilpacks. The first kits were marketed at around US$399. Prices have dropped since then because the coilpacks can now be bought for under US$20.
The 034 HO coils are strong but there have been some failures. Their coils are guaranteed to the original purchaser for life (so they say). The problem is you have to send your old coil back to them to get the free replacement. I once figured out that the 034 HO coils were actually Mercury Marine engine coils but 034 denies that.
The LS2 coil kit from EFI Express is likely equally as robust as the 034 HO coil kit with the advantage that the LS2 coils are readily available at quite low prices, e.g. US$30.
So I wouldn't feel too bad about your purchase of the 034 HO coil kit. Lots of high hp folks run them.
Yeah, I have had 2 fail. They replaced them, but I had to pay shipping. They did say at the time that they had some QC issues with some of the coils. After the 2 bad one's were replaced, no issues. I was not some familiar in the parts market in 2009.
Now I know better. If I ever get started on my B4 1.8T project, I am getting the TFSI kit for that.
Here are a couple of photos of the EFI loom in situ on my RHD UrS6

It was all very clearly labelled and easy to fit.
As with all things you always discover something you didnt want to whilst fitting it, mine was spark plug well No.5 full of oil due to a misaligned cam cover gasket. Because the old coils had the cover on top, this problem had gone undectected until I popped the coils in. Cest le vie...
Noodle this is the tfsi loom I'm guessing?? So future proof for new coils. Did you buy it with coils or get others?? So this loom will work with 1.8,2.0, rs3 reds etc coils

So, far, yes. The four pin harness to coil pack plug is common to all those different VAG coilpacks.

Yes it's the EFI Express loom with TFSi coils. These coils are very cheaply available in the US so I ordered it with the coils too as I didn't stand to save anything by sourcing them separately over here. In fact the spare coil that I bought after fitting the kit was more expensive than the individual cost of those supplied by Marc even after factoring shipping in. Be aware that you cannot refit the original 20v Turbo coil cover as these coils need as much cooling as possible due to the closer proximity of the electronics to the engine.
