Bosch F2CS spark plugs in tuned RS2

    Guys,

    2nd post already!

On my Dupré Motorsport tuned RS2 originally F2CS spark plugs where used. I found the heat range very cold with respect to the original F5DP0R spark plugs and just used the latter ones, also on the advice of the only RS2 specialist in Holland.

I am experiencing some problems under full boost, intermittant cut outs. I cannot determine if it's boost related or ignitation related. The car has new spark plugs, new N75 valve, new spark plug connectors, new lambda sond and a new thermostat.

I read on the German www.rs-zwei.com that high boost can blow away the spark and you can prevent this problem with colder plugs gapped to 0.4mm instead of the regular 0.6mm...

Anyone know if the above is true and if this could cause problems under high boost?

My car has been tuned to 380 HP with a hybrid turbo, head work, et cetera. Don't know/have complete build spec.. I can give it about 90% on the loud pedal without these problems occuring. I noticed the problem growing very worse after a lap on the Nordschleife. Seems to be temperature related...

No error codes on the car!

    TIA,

    Adwo

Might be worth checking the fuel flow at high rpm's, just in case it's leaning out under load. A few of the cars that have been tuned recently have had poor fuel flow due to worn pumps, dodgy wiring and blocked fuel filters.

Can I ask who you refer to as "the only rs2 specialist in Holland"?

      Cheers
      Jeffry

And it's maybe wise to install a bosch 5 bar FP with this setup, If you havent done it.. This could be the source of your problem like Steve pointed out.

        Jeffer,

That would be Coen Donkers in Erp...

I will be checking the fuel pump and pressure this weekend, but this car is driving me crazy with all kinds of little problems.. Rear heater not working, backing lights coming on when I turn on the head lamps (I know, cable failure in the grommets), boost/ignition problem, radio sometimes turning on and off 10 times in a row, et cetera... AHAAHAAHAH!! ;-)

And this is a RS2 with a full service history!

        Regards,

        Adwo

            Hmmm,

I asked for the fuel filter to be replaced when I had the car serviced. Just checked the invoice and it's not mentioned. I will change that too..

Tucked about 1/3 way in the fuel Tank. You can see it if u jack up the car.
PS: You don't need to remove the tank to change it. With abit of self-belief, i changed mine in 30 mins. :mischeif:

                Ain't that right Martyn???

                  Sounds very promising! ;-)

Could you explain how you managed to set a world record for that?

I realize it's possible, but any pointers would be very welcome! ;-)
