    Adjustable cam pulley/cam gears

Was exploring what market offered on those items for our cars.

I've seen Kent-Cams does both adjustable cam pulley and cam gears for the VW MK1-2-3 16V engines, so was wondering if they could be suitable for our engines as well. Any feedback?

    What about Piper?
    Any other brand to suggest?

    Thanks

    Marco

There was a company on ebay - that did custom cam pulleys machined to whatever you wanted - can't find them now though.

I’ve seen what I thought was an adjustable pulley on the Dialynx Sprint car.
I think the pulley on a 8v Golf is the same as the one used on the 5 cylinder Audis. A 52 toothed gear.
          VW 8v P/N is A5130-25769, 16v P?N is A5130-12821
          Audi P/N is 034 109 111
Can anyone with ETKA check on this info?

The KRB Trading Urquattro uses a cam pulley from Piper cams...at least this summer they did, although i dont know the exact specs im pretty sure he`s pushing around 9000 rpm`s with stiffer springs and it seems to be holding up with that...

I'm using a adjustable CatCam pulley for a VW 16v on my engine. Using aftermarked injection system so no need for cam sensor

              Cheers,
              Roger

Sent a mail to Kent-cams asking for infos about the adjustable cam gears. hope to get a reply.
Deal is not only should be nice being able to advance or retard timing a little, just to set the optimum with a given engine setup, but also timing intake and exhaust separatly.
                I've seen from this site:

VW/Volkswagen Parts, Audi Parts. Replacement parts, performance vw parts, performance Audi parts, Exhaust System, Air Intake, Cold air intake, ECU, Suspension, Maintenan

kent-cams do them for the MK1-2-3 16 V (item 15S69), so I was just wondering (and actually hoping) they might fit our fivers as well......?

                Thanks for any feedback.

With CatCams cams you can adjust intake and exhaust separatly (but you still need a adjustable camgear)

                    Why?

You adjust exhaust in respect of crank gear, then intake in respect of exhaust

                    Anyway.... pictures and prices?

                    Thanks

Took a better look to the exhaust cam. You're right. No way to change exhaust timing without pulley. But then how come they sell the "gear set"? If you have the pulley then there should only be the need of one of the two internal gears to change the intake separatly.....

Maybe to get more adjustment range?
