I believe its just for the coils. What can you do the coils for? This might be a solution

Will these plug in and replace a 1.8t coil pack?. I have a loom on my urs4 that let's me use the 1.8t coils, but I have replaced 3 in 2 years, so if these are better would buy a set..

give me the part numbers you are after and i can give 2 prices:

This is just for the coils as we can't get hold of them mega cheap!

Perhaps you could point us in the direction of your source or arrange a group buy??

There are a few part numbers dependent on whether people are looking for black or red top coils.

Also as Dmitri has said, unlless you are mapped for offset Dwell then coils will have premature death!

well gimme part numbers for coils and i will give my prices i can pay for them, but normally they are cheaper than mainstream.

dont think group buy will be an option though, but i will ask!

                need part numbers though lads

You should be able to use these coils without any changes to your existinmg setup.

I'm sure Dmitri will let us know whether dwell settings are different between the 1.8T coils and the V8 red tops or 2.5TFSI's

looms will be the same for 1.8 and 2.5 swops

Dwell correction IS needed, but again i may be corrected

                        Dwell correction is needed, yes...
For both 1.8T and 2.5TFSI. I think the red ones are the same as 2.5TFSI, only color is different.

                        Otherwise they last about 20 000-50 000km.
For me it was 1.5 years and about 30 000 without correction.

it is coil packs only...I'm already running the 1.8T set and have the looms already on my current engine....so was only planning to replace the coils....

if you can sort something cheaper, thats awesome....

I'll keep you all updated for information sake...

Prj, what differences do you do to the dwell map? I run vems, and dwell isn't something I have ever looked at, my low 1.8t coil expectancy could be due to that...

How much dwell do you run?
You should run about 2.5ms and 2.0 to 2.2 up top.

You might even get away with 1.5 up top and 2ms in midrange.
                                This is at 14V.
