    .82 housing in a Ur.

Following on from Angus's thread i have now fitted the larger exhaust housing, and have included some pictures for reference.

First picture is old v new..

The second picture shows why i also had to swap the turbine wheel to the 60mm wheel as opposed to the 56.1mm one.... mind you this would have resolved my explosive boost problem.... lol...

Then i had to cut a hole in the chassis rail to allow some clearance around the housing as it clashes with it when in combination with the RS2 manifold.

The welding is not great but i had to do it with short blasts (spots) so as not to generate to much heat for the wax oil in the rail..

Some paint (no picture) then a layer of heat shield..

All back together, not had a chance to drive it yet, hopefully get an MOT tomorrow and can report more....

Edit: Forgot to mention i also had to slightly modify the down pipe, in particular the waste-gate flange as can been seen by the fresh weld you can just make out..

What do you think the new setup will make? I'd like to upgrade the RS2 turbo on my car, but realise the RS2 manifold will be a bottleneck.

To be honest, i will be happy with what it had before just want it to be more progressive with slower spool up, it was to explosive previously.

A 3071r would be the next upgrade for your manifold, should go well with one of them.

@darren good work and keep us updated.

                  Looking good

I reckon you could make 460-480 bhp with that combination as a guess.

To be honest the manifold will limit it to 450ish which I am happy with, just want the spool to be less harsh.

                      Went straight through the MOT

Feels much nicer with the new housing, still aggressive but somehow much smoother and just keeps pulling without the flat torque curve i had previously.

Yep think i am sorted will get the map looked at but happy for now...

I went from .6ar housing (not even .63) with a 56.1mm wheel. Now has a 60mm wheel in a .82 Porsche housing, (KKK housing) in theory it's now a GT3071.82. Interestingly Craig at CR Turbos said he could fit a GTX compressor wheel at some point if I wanted... That would probably be the ultimate turbo for my set up...

Ive just received a turbo from craig at CR same as your old spec with 56mm wheel k24 housing. Ill be interested to see how aggressive it is. My last blower was laggy as hell so looking forward to it
