It won't be..... What's the spec of your engine?

The WR flywheel does have all the weight in the wrong place, that said the 56.1mm wheel in the .6 housing needs something to absorb the explosiveness so it may just be suited.
The one thing I would watch is over revs in 1st, mine with the lighter flywheel raced up so rapidly that the centra fugal force shot the revs straight past the rev limiter and my data log indicated 8100rpm and it simply won't last doing that.
Hopefully yours won't be as explosive with the heavier flywheel but if it is you need to be careful as the heavier flywheel wil carry even more centra fugal force.
The 82mm wheel you refer to, that wasn't the turbine wheel was it? hopefully you mean the exducer of the compressor, which is still big, but if you do mean turbine that would fit a Scania truck...
EDIT: sorry just re read you post you did say compressor.Comment

Hi mate, not had chance to get the mapped looked at yet but it is definitely a better drive your more than welcome to come over and have a go.
It certainly shifts as David and Steve witnessed when we had a little play on the way back from Combe... Flames and all.....
All the best

Yes CR did the work. No machining required but it needed a bigger wheel to match the housing. Being the hot side this meant new shaft.. Part of the wheel etc. Did it while I waited though.
It is a Porsche housing I guess it would be from a 944..Comment

Been chatting to Javad of 034 motorsport and he said about the .82AR:
"Yes, even on our 3.0liter 2.7t motor we tested and found that .63AR was better than .82AR, no loss of top end power and faster spool up.
.82AR would be better for like a 3.6 or 4.2l V8, also different AR flow differently so just because KKK .6 flows bad doesn't mean Garret .63AR will, we have done testing with 2.45l I5 motors and have verified the result with the GTX3071R.
Choice is yours, either turbo will perform well but faster spool up and no loss of top end is always the holy grail of turbo tuning."
Interesting. I was dead set on the .82 also! AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Lol you can ask to many people. I know which I prefer having had both on the same set up...Been chatting to Javad of 034 motorsport and he said about the .82AR:

Apart from the comment on the i5 the rest seems to be talking about V engines, which the .6 comments would probably be correct.Last edited by DJones; 25 January 2013, 21:10.Comment
