Has anyone experienced issue that readings goes lower on coolant temp. gauge on highway ?
I've checked MFTS and found that grommet (p/n 4A0971876 - 4.71eur) is off the sensor.
I wasn't able to pull it back on the sensor, will do that during head removal, but I'm sure
that was a cause of this issue. But then I got idea to do it even better.. instead of grommet
to use heat sleave (photos attached), I have tested to fit it on old spare MFTS and to me it looks
perfect. If this sleave can protect till 650 Celsius I believe it will protect better from some wind as well... ))

I'm having gauge problems - it sometimes does nothing, sometimes reads fine and there is no pattern other than maybe it reads better when hot on a long run. I was thinking the fault is on the instrument cluster - voltage regulator can cause funny readings but I swapped that and it made no difference. I will double check my mfts but last time I looked connections o.k. My neighbour who is a Volvo truck mechanic took an interest and said he gets more breakdowns due to rubber seals being in place than not, sounds strange but on his trucks they seem to keep the water in! Your heat sleeve looks like it might ventilate better than rubber so for that reason it could be worth having :-)

In your case re-soldering those two contacts should solve the problem, known issue with the same symptoms and those two dry contacts were the reason.

Am I correct that coolant temperature readings should be the same on Climate Control Panel code51 (https://www.audiworld.com/tech/int5.shtml) and on coolant temperature gauge in instrument cluster ?
