    Snub Mount

Could someone please explain to me the snub mount arrangement on an S2 Coupe? The reason I ask is that ive been living with a really sloppy drivetrain for a while on my coupe. I got a mate to work the clutch with the car at i standstill, while i observed the engine movement. The thing was rocking backwards and forwards like crazy!

The majority of the movement seemed to occur around the snub mount, and after getting it on the ramp and checking the mount it seems that the rubber bush is not located in a housing as I expected, but instead sits up close to the crossmember. Is that right or has something fell off?

Ive seemn the 034 mounts and I'm considering swapping to one of those.

    Cheers, Tom.

the snub mount is more of a "movement stop"

i.e the rubber mushroom hits the stop on the front pannel/cross member to stop it pulling up so much, if that makes sense

Yea thanks mate, that how it appeared when i had a look. Still worrying to see that much moving is the engine though..

Not to mention the driveline shunt it appears to be giving me.

I would certainly recommend Rusty's uprated snub bushes and brackets!

You can also weld an appropriately sized bit of pipe into the original snub mount to give a 360*. The rubber bush can be trimmed down and a smaller tube used for less squish if desired, costs next to nothing if you have a welder and bits of scrap metal about.

Rusty's one is a nice plug and play bit of kit, no faffing.
