None of us have had personal experience on these turbos and to quote what happens in other engines is meaningless.
So all of us can do a google search and find out what those turbos are capable of. That doesnt mean that a turbo on engine A will do the same on engine B, simply because the engines are different and their ability to use the flow of the turbo is different.
Hence, since these turbos have NOT to my knowledge been tested in the I5, who knows what they can do?
I have seen GTX3071 with 0.63AR do 550-570hp crank on 4cyl audi engines on S3 2002 model but run at 2.5bar boost. On those engines you can keep the boost high up as EGTs are not an issue. And on 2 cars i already know, the cyl. heads were stock, not ported. I actually measured one with the perf.box and excel, giving it around 535-540hp and a huge torque as well.
My experience tells me that the 0.63AR on the GTX3071 will give a nice spool but will choke on the top end due to the high EGTs, and therefore you will have to reduce the boost.
To use a GTX3076R with a .82AR i would only guess, that you may end up making slightly more than the GT3076 with better midrange, but i dont know what will happen to the top end.
if it were me, using a GT3076R turbo at the moment, i could potentialy swap it to a GTX3071R with same 0.63AR and not lose any power but also make a bit of spool.

says that it's not good at all. I'm happy with the car and no issue with the turbo, this upgrade will be just happy coincidence and this never ending itch for upgrades
on a 2.25 engine
