what are the best spark plugs to use? are the platinum ones from VAG good? and also what are the best plug leads to use, best value for money?

Buy BOSCH plugs either from VAG or GSF.
Same with leads, buy genuine, they arent cheap, but they are the best. Still use OE leads on 500bhp carssigpic

Ive was using some 10mm diameter blue 'racing leads' but didnt know if they were that good or not.
just swapped back to originals and there is a definate improvement.Comment

OEM leads from the 7A engine will fit under the plug cover of the 3B (just) and are quite a bit cheaper than the actual 3B ones.

Bosch Platinum F5DPOR. Cheapest from GSF. I used to buy 20+ at a time and got them dirty cheap then...less than £6 each without any form of club or trade discounts.
Seen some recently for sale on ebay and they were in a very different box to the genuine Bosch ones sold in the UK. Boxes were red and yellow so not sure if they are from another country or for a different global market. Could they be fake?1995 S2 Avant with some upgrades
