    Aluminium Water (Big) Radiator

    Hallo people,

i am new in your forum! I own an RS2 and and i have a question! Does anyone of you have an Aluminium Water radiator (the big one with the fan)!

Mine has a crack on it and i thought that maybe its wiser to put an aluminium than to put an original plastic again!

    Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure if the air con rad will fit if using an aluminium rad from dialynx, its core is much thicker than the standard rad.

I have a Dialynx Aluminium radiator - I run that without an aux radiator and it works a treat. The ambient temps here are currently above 30 C and even on the racetrack the car is fine! I don't know what a new one costs but if it work in the heat down here, it will work anywhere!

That will be a copy of the OE one - and it is a pile of ***** - I am on my 3rd one now - all on warranty - made by Nissens - badly.

I would invest it an ali one - if I had the money.

I wish i had Tom, my nissens radiator is *****, i had my original blow off the top nozzle 2 years ago, so after 4 hours of knuckle tearing i got the old one out then with another 3 hours i fitted the nissens. ( I called the car a whole number of explutives ). Just after the 1 year warranty ran out it developed a leak where the bottom mount was welded, tried allsorts to seal it and it got worse. Then through every day having to bleed it the part which is swaged on what the bleed nipple screws into started to turn, (i have had an OEM Radiator on order for 3 weeks). So Friday night Graham (Tekno300) loaned me his spare radiator and i took my nissens radiator out (1 Hour this time). Saturdat morning i fitted Grahams radiator and when i started to fill it it had a crack on the bottom tank . Sop in a fury i pulled it out again (1/2 Hour this time ). I tried to get a hold of one but couldnt, so i went over Grahams with my original OEM radiator and Grahams spare radiator, we spent an hour or so stripping the good tank of mine and fitted it to grahams radiator to make one good rad. Fitted it on Saturday night (3/4 hour ) and ran it up this morning. It has a small leak but i have some rad sealer for that. Hopefully i will be mobile again.
My car has aircon but it is discharged so i remove the condenser aswell.
The car doesnt know if it is coming or going.
OEM is the way to go on these. But they are on open back order in Germany so my fingers are crossed for that coming.

I have sealed mine with epoxy putty! I have take it for a ride yesterday ()till the temperature goes to 90 and the fan goes on ect) and everything seemed ok! I hope it will last on longer runs till i find a better solution!

Doug has had nothing but problems with his Nissens rads
Same thing as graham, the bottom fixing area just leaked like a sieve. Just pure and utter crap.

What is a metal plate in front of the left wheel under the water tank for the windscreen? There are three screws that hold three cables!
