i have a problem with my freshly professional rebuild rs2 turbo. when the car is cold, after 15 seconds the car begins to smoke until its warmed up, then its fine and the smoke dissapears. i found some oil in the compressor side of the turbo, whats causing this ? my pcv valve is cleaned and not blocked, also the oil return line on the turbo is not blocked.
i know i have s small leak on the turbo coolant line
Are you sure there is not blockage in oil return line? Because it looks like you are over pressurizing the cartridge, which forces the oil through the compressor seal and most likely through the piston rings at the turbine as well.
Under normal operation there can only be oil coming from the compressor when boostpressure is lower than oil pressure in cartridge, this happens to diesel engines when idling (no boost) with badly calibrated VGT's...
Rebuild is done by ett eindhoven but i dont think the rebuild is the problem. The car was smoking bad before the turbo was rebuild. Its better now but still there when cold, i also replaced some parts of the pcv system that were broken.
I have taken the return line off and its not blocked at all
Could be the breather, need to disconnect the pipe that goes to the turbo inlet pipe from the cam cover and block the pipe under the IM so that you can run the breather outlet to a tank and see if the problem persists without the breather connected to the inlet.

I think it can only be my pcv system because i have oil everywere. today i checked the big valve down at the crankcase and cleaned it with some carb cleaner. I hope thats it because i have oil everywere...

Cleaning it with carb cleaner will not help if the diaphragm inside the pressure regulating valve is ripped/torn. Might make it worse. Follow the link below for more PCV system info.
Question: Where did the seven missing grid vanes on that RS2 MAF go? Hopefully not through the MAF.
The vanes were allready broken when i bought the car, i cleaned everything and will see if the problem is solved
Okay thanks. As for cleaning everything, as I said earlier, if the diaphragm in the pressure regulating (pancake) valve is ripped, its not going to help.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread - but I'm having a similar issue - after a hard run/launch there is a lot of smoke on start up, but clears up when driving. No issues when driven normal. So I checked and the intake pipe and IC had lot's of oil in them.
@Hermanio - how did you resolve your problem?
I'd like to test the PCV as suggested by prj - but would appreciate if someone could be a bit more specific "Take your PCV feed, block it on the MAF-Turbo hose and take a coke bottle, then temporarily route your PCV to the coke bottle" - exactly where do I block it on the MAF-turbo hose and from where do route the PCV to the bottle - pictures would really help. Sorry I'm a bit of a noob at this and don't want to do the wrong thing an create further problems. I've got the breather system diagram/pic from ETKA - but can't seem to upload it here at the moment.
Thanx a whole lot
Cheers
dont forget to clean the intercooler!
i agree with the other guy's that the problem probably will be your crankcase ventilation
You can also do a compression test to see that you do not have too much underpressure
