First of all dont worry about the cracks they're not cracks but casting flash. It's normal and not structural. Next looking at the pic rhe cap is right way round.

Oil wise these engines dont like thick oil. Thick oil = high pressure = poor flow = rapid breakdown of oil due to turbo heat resulting in poor protection and noisy too ends. All the engines i've always run on 5w40 platinum from your local audi garage with fantastic reliability. So long you make 2bar at 2000rpm when at full temp it doesn't matter what it drops to at idle.

Now the noise you are suffering from is lifter knock. It occurs when the lifters part seize in the lifter bores due to either excessive expansion of the cylinderhead on the exhaust side due to overheating (make sure water system is full and correctly bled) or due to poor lubrication. Cam pushes lifter down then as the cam comes back up the lifter momentarily stays down seized in it's bore. Then on release shoots up and hits the back of the cam lobe. Resulting in a knocking noise as in the vid.

My car sounds exactly the same and my noise and mine is down to the cambrlt bring too tight I know this is true as I did it myself and will adjust it before I next drive it

You should be able to turn the belt 90 degrees between water pump and cam pulley and not more or less

I tightened mine up more as I thought it too slack when I replaced the belt but now believe it too tight, good job I have barely driven it

Any way to cure those symptoms or is that a head ready for scrap?
Could you polish the bores slightly for example or would that cause to much play for the lifter.

Don't know what diagram you are looking at but this is the one that I use as a guide (the numbers read properly from the intake side of the head). The very front ones are not numbered.
