In this case, lets hope his compressor inlet is full of ****. We all know how much oil can collect in the intercooler with the stock breather system.

What's the bhp threshold that after which it is a good idea to upgrade the oem PCV system ?

          Thanks.

If I were to decide, I'd say any bhp threshold. The stock system is always going to produce gunk to the inlet tract no matter what. Best is to get rid of it. I would definitely do it if I was doing an engine rebuild.

0.4 bar boost is nothing to laugh about, Señor Rocco. That was all I had in the early days of my S2 ownership, after I found the 'chip' and bleed valve. I was lucky to survive until I could get MrC to remap it.

                    is it true?

because the first time when i left my 2.2e 136 hp coupe and bought my S2 i was thinking "wow this is fantastic how it pulls and see how the arrow climbs the speed"

and the car had a super **** boost gauge installed ....and was showing 0.4bar
the car had in the enginebay a manual valve near to the wastegate...and the ex-owner told me "be carefull" if you close this valve you will get 280hp and you will can break the engine "

what old days.... i was feeling stupid when i remember those things

Probably just oil from the breather system. A newly built engine will "breathe" a bit heavy till the rings bed in properly. Worth checking the cold side bolts though, if you remember, mine came loose and the housing was leaking quite badly, I used blue locktite on them and had no problems since.

cheers for that John...I will double check...

I will be looking to upgrade the breather system soon as......

as for the inlet compressor, I found a small trace of oil sat in the bottom of the inlet part of the housing...and I will check the throttle for oil residue.....
