What's the latest info on these? I'm looking at doing some work on the car and replacing this at the same time strikes me as a good idea. What are the options? I see from this thread that there are a few separate sensors and that Bosch offer the complete part.
Any info gratefully received

I have done the replacement 2 ways and both were fine and cheaper than Audi ( depending on how handy you are with a soldering iron and shrink wrap... )
The latest one I got from Eurocarparts ( Bosch OEM ) and was about 100 squid. Can dig out the part no if you require it...

The referenced thread was mine. The update is BB Automacao no longer sells in lots smaller than 100 units. Marc S. at EFI Express has taken up the cause and bought a large lot that he is now retailing at US$10 a piece. I have noted this before.
There's also now a couple of UK sellers of the hall sensor who've been noted on here which saves the postage and possible duty on using EFI Express in the US.
Either way, you'll still need to solder the new sensor into the old loom and need the old bracket.
Are the plugs available to buy separately, so I can solder it all up beforehand? I seem to remember plug suppliers being discussed a while back, anyone remember the company?
Finally, does anyone have a knackered old sensor kicking about that they don't need the bracket off? Be good to get it all ready.

If you look at the G40 info link I provided above and read down, you will find the PNs for both the female and male 3 pin connectors that you might need. Used VW/Audi 3 Pin O2 sensor connectors also work (potted pins but you have to splice anyway).

Part no is 419440650 and they call it an ignition pulse sensor. HTH
No offense but that Part No. doesn't seem to be valid. The G40 is called a "cam position sensor (hall sensor)" not an impulse sender. See Item 10, PN 034905161, below (Same for AAN, ABY and ADU).

Based on what I read at http://www.jaycarelectronics.co.uk, the one they have on offer is very likely to be the same one BB AutoMacao and EFI Express have except jaycarelectronics have them in the UK.
