Nope, the standard washers I took off my aby didn't fit over the arp studs. I had to cut the heads off the old standard head bolts to get the washers off too

The standard ARP washers are certainly a problem. Every head I've pulled that's used them has had the washers sunk into the aluminum; in one case bad enough that the bore was reduced making it a bear to even pull the head off over the stud threads.

I've found a solution and have been using them with good results since. They provide 54% more clamping area versus the standard ARP washers. I've been offering them on my site for folks in the US and Canada since...

Of course, if you're crafty, you can figure out what will fit and where to get them...

Certainly a cheaper option that having some made up, shame that shipping is as expensive as a full set and getting a batch sent through would incur customs charges...

What's the OD of the studs? Can't remember off the top of my head.

                So we need a washer:-
                • ID - 11mm ID (7/16")
                • OD - 22 to 24mm (7/8" to 15/16")
                • Thk - ~4mm (1/8" to 3/16")
                • Material - Pressed or hardened mild steel / 303 stainless?

                Sound about right?

                I like those ones from the US, looking at $35 a set or so = £23 + 25% taxes = £30 a set for 12, so £2.50 each...

                  Did you see Thuppu's ones?

I wonder if Kev could do a batch of these up for a similar price to importing from the US?

If thuppu's are 22mm dia, looking at the pic, I would not have thought you could go bigger than that and you would have thought he would have used the maximum dia possible.

Confusingly he states both 22mm diameter and 25mm diameter -

                          22mm - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showpos...7&postcount=54

                          25mm - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showpos...3&postcount=55

Those in pic one are 22mm first ones I did. The second pic washers isn't made by me, they came with the studs I bought, and they are 25mm. Some of them are quite tight fit, had to grind a couple of to get them fit. I have made some kits with 24,5mm OD size and they fit well, exept of the two ones that comes close to the chain, they need a little grinding. Have also made some diesel block 12mm stud ID washers as well... I can't make big batches of these, every washer is hand made of high tensile steel. I can only made a kit every here and then...
