7k seems fair for one bad *** bottom end if you want to go all out, if someone wanted to replicate JP's bugswatter bottom end i think it would be much more than that. all depends on persons power aim, budget and engine "bombproofness"

Seems that I'm thinking along the right lines. A lot of the bolt on stuff is already there, it's the internals that are of concern. Just have to piece together some pennies now and then I can get this sorted.

Defo getting up there on the money stakes but still less than 7k as a stroker designed to bounce of a limiter harder than a 2.2. Add a dry sump and yes you'll easily surpass 7k if going all out.

So, from reading the comments, I'm happy that my assumptions were along the right lines:
            • Rebuild with rods, clutch and basic head rebuild ~ ÂŁ2000
            • Ported head ~+ÂŁ500
            • Re-bore & new pistons ~+ÂŁ750

                Yes, that's another worry.

Could go 2.3 ghetto build, like this post

I would just budget to do it once and do it right first time
