You just killed one of myths.....
Can you explained me the fact that the functionality it's there but no used, means that could be easily put back to work on the S2/S4 principle?
just curiousity and desire to know.
Thanks Prj!

Yes, it can be enabled if so desired.
I almost never use it. Only for cars that need to go flat out on the autobahn - there I enable the "overboost" mode at 6500+ rpm and reduce boost after the overboost time passes so the engine does not get cooked.Comment

Guys, pls correct me if I am wrong :
On a healthy car, what I should see in my boost gauge, when flooring on 3rd at 3k rpm, is 1.4bar and then tapper off to 0.9bar. How long does this overboost of 1.4bar last ? Or does it last until a certain rpm is reached ?________________

Prj just stated that there's no overboost on RS2
I was wrong and he's (i'm an amateur He's an expert)right

I always thought that a steady boost was the one that is reached at whichever rpm and stays as is till the end of the rev range. Hence in this case 1.4 till red line. If however it drops then I'd regard it as overboost of 1.4 and steady of 0.9
That's what I thought at leastComment

Overboost is a specific operation condition where the standard charge pressure is increased for quicker overtaking based on a set of criteria.I always thought that a steady boost was the one that is reached at whichever rpm and stays as is till the end of the rev range. Hence in this case 1.4 till red line. If however it drops then I'd regard it as overboost of 1.4 and steady of 0.9
That's what I thought at least
These criteria include IAT and some timers among others.
1.4 ... 0.9 is just the boost profile on the car. 1.4 taper 0.9.Comment
