Make a heat shield that covers the wiring. I think it was Georges2uk who made up something out of some pretty decent heat shielding material

Use some heat wrap on the downpipe, that should help to reduce the radiant heat.

We made a load of shields for my mates R32 turbo out of this stuff
Good quality and nice to work with, very similar to the modern stuff VAG is using now.

in my case it'll be veggiefoil....

cheers for the tips guys....I'm not sure of where to fix it to the body hence why I thought that surrounding the connector would be the best option....I might have a look at extending the stock heat sheild that sits behind the DP....

                You could either

Get some Raychem and shrink it onto the cable this will give you up to something like 150 degs

Or run a rear sensor in the front with the longer cable?

stupid question time, surely if the connector joins above the DP it wouldn't matter whether it was the long cable or not....

I was aiming it so you could move the connector

I have some rear coupe ones in a box some where. If you can measure the length of the front one you have and if it turns out to be shorter.

Your welcome to what i have here
