    ABY Timing belt/water pump woes.

Ive been collecting parts over the past few years in preparation for a timing belt renewal on my ABY.
I decided to go ADU belt and pump, just because...
I bought the pump first from a forum member and was sure i had the correct one based on this:

I confirmed the PN via PM before purchase and counted the teeth and checked PN when it arrived:
    PN: 034 121 004A on box, pump has 29teeth.

IN the mean time i aquired a roller, crank bolt and sprocket (all common to ABY and ADU so no prob) but also sourced a RS2 belt.

But i have since found out that 29 teeth is not an RS2 pump

Can anyone confirm what pump i have?

If its an ABY pump then should i buy another pump for an ADU or another Belt for an ABY

thanks in advance for any help.

Just had another thought, it is possible that he PN on the pump box does not correspond to the pump in the box? Wouldnt be the first time....

There's a picture of a ADU waterpump, the sprocket has got 4 holes in it and 26 teeth. The housing part number is 074 121 019C which is a 5-cyl TDI number.

According to this it sounds like a 3b pump.

A pic would have helped to ID it. Does it have three bolts holes or are two of them slotted? If its slotted its not an ABY/RS2 fitment.

Cheers guys, it does have slots, so sounds to me like i have a 3B, 7A etc waterpump.
Time to find a decent quality and reasonably priced ADU pump...

The ADU waterpump would have cost me 399€ from Germany, and they are available through Audi only. I went for a AAN pump and belt. Also the guy I buy parts from stated the ADU timing belt was the last one in Germany
