2 stroke OIL mixed with DIESEL FUEL helps injection pump?

A friend told me today that adding 2 stroke lube oil to diesel fuel helps the injection pump and overall the entire injection system. With no effect on the engine whatsoever or on emissions. In fact you get a better mpg and a quieter engine.

He told me that BOSCH did a study several years ago about this subject and they were saying that diesel fuel nowadays doesn't have enough sulfur and thus the lubrication properties of diesel fuel are poor and the injection system of the car damages easily.

I didn't find this bosch review on the web but I've asked my friend to send it to me.

I have found many discussions on the web though, many people saying that 2 stroke oil lube is helping the engine.

    Here's one:

Anyone knows more about this subject?

    yes, it works 100%

i use BP Ultimate diesel in my 90PS work van and that helps a lot

i also put 1/4 litre 2 stroke to full tank

big big help as i carry a van FULL of tools, also reduces knock on startup and drives more smooth, seems less smokey too oddly enough!

been doing this for about 15 months now, no ill effects

My boss once accidentaly put petrol in his Daihatsu Fourtrak TDX. We service/repair boats and outboard engines. Realising the lubrication properties of two stroke oil, we filled the tank with diesel and a litre of marine TCW3 two stroke oil.
He found that the engine started and ran better than ever before and believing that the 2stroke oil made the difference, he continues to do so with no ill effects.
Its very interesting to find that others have found the same benefits, so thanks for posting this!
          Thanks, Dan.

It might also be interesting to note that as an "old man's tale" my father was told to put a small amount of waste oil in every tank of diesel in his boat.
maybe the old boys knew what they were on about!?
              Thanks, Dan

Filtered well and dewatered and mixed with either 15 percent petrol or 50/50 with diesel, waste engine oil runs fine on a good amount of diesel engines, infact runs better/quieter/more efficient than pump diesel.

Before I try this in my Espace- what about the DPF??
Anyone know if it's gonna be damaged?

not if you thrash it regularly

the DPF gets blocked for one of 2 reasons

                    1, lack of spirited driving

2, oil leaking from the turbocharger sticking to the DPF internaly then soot sticks to that

the burnt oil will just be soot like the diesel that has been burnt, if you see what im trying to say

you can just steam clean DPF`s to flush them out too, but thats another essay lol

if you have access to a reasonable quality scanner you can have a look at the differential pressures before and after the DPF, this will cive you an idea of how "blocked" it is

depending on what type of DPF you have ofcourse,

                        some dont use pressure sensors

Sean- On the subject of scanners, I have a Sealey VS8700, and a new set of connecting leads for the S2, but scanner doesnt read the car.
Any ideas?? I'm happy the leads are good, but maybe the scanner is incompatible??
                          Cheers,
                          Tony.

There are 2 different types of 2 stroke oil to use for cars with and without DPF.
                            Will post them later.

I'm tempted to try this just to see if my DERV ends up smelling as sweet as my 2-stroke racer.
