same, mine is lazy as well and is quite annoying (nearly as much as it getting caught on the seat tilt lever.)

That oil looks like the stuff that comes out of my ZX Volcane diesel. Not good basically (if it is engine oil)

Just pull all the belt out and put a clamp on it to stop it retracting, then dump the lot in a bucket of warm soapy water and leave it to soak for half an hour. Give it a scrub with a soft nylon brush and then dry it. You'll be amazed at all the crap that comes out of it.
Cheers Andy, will try that this weekend

I had someone take a quick look at the car and he seemed to think the leak was nothing serious, he thought it may be coming from the Cam head Gasket, but we haven't managed to get it up on a jack or even better a ramp to look properly
The oil level had not dropped much so he didn't think it was anything major, the PAS pump has always 'parped' on left lock when driving slowly but I take it this quite common?.... So anyway, I had to drive it to work the last 2 days (only a 30 mile round trip) Engine still sounds healthy, oil temp norm, water temp norm, everything seemed okay!
When driving I noticed a new similar noise to the PAS 'parp' but it was whilst going around 20mph and in a straight line??? I then thought 'could the leak be Power steering fluid?'

Today I checked the oil level again and now it looks like it has gone down a little, so I intended getting some oil after work. On the way back I gave it a bit of welly in 3rd and after about a second of boost there was jolt and what sounded like a misfire or backfire So now I am a little bit more worried
I drove the car back tenderly and it drives fine in low revs, had a quick look under the bonnet etc and I couldn't see anything, but obviously the leak is still there, I think I can see a hole in the bottom section of the downpipes also

I know I know I should really get it properly looked at and not have driven it, but I had no choice and money being a bit tight at the moment I need some more advice from you guys in the know

          Thanks.

          is needed

The offer is still open to give the car a look over for you

I can test your boost hoses for leaks.
