Oookkaaayyy.... Officially weird now... I refuelled it asre end of last week and within two days of (very) short runs, it's stopped smoking.... If it idles for several minutes and then I blip it, it's a bit sooty, but the grey's gone and it's pretty much, as was, and I've used it more, and 'tempted' it to smoke without luck.... I'll still pull the PCV system off this week, but it's back to normal again....
I'm confused...

Sounds a little like valve stem oil seals to me....
They can be a little hit and miss to how much they leak but will progressively get worse.
But if it does not return it must have been either some real crappy fuel it it had some diesel in it.
