How to fit rs2 fuel pump

Just received an rs2 fuel pump with basket ( thanks dobin )

I presume it's best to use the rs basket, but how do you get the old one out ? Is it a push fit? Clipped in etc ?

Same with the wiring ? Any mods needed ?

Finally, is the banjo on the s2 fuel line a straight fit to the rs pump ?

    Thanks all !

Basket rotates and lifts out, not an easy job and even more difficult to get back in. Have a look at Daves guide here http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...t=c4+fuel+pump

Hose will be a problem, i know for the 044 fitment i had to replace the original hose with an RS2 version. See the bottom of this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...&highlight=044

I believe the coupe pipe fits.

Have a look on my avant thread linked in my signature. The first thread lists which post for the fuel pump.

Audi S2, 90 and C4 Fuel pump removal pdfs

Check out the C4-related pdf that mcandmar pointed you to: http://12v.org/urs/Fuel%20Pump%20Tes...eduresRev3.pdf

Also there is the attached (based on a post from DougS2 at MRC) and the Audi 90 fuel pump removal guide attached.

If you don't have to remove the basket, then you might be able to use this:

The diameter of the RS2 pump is the same, so you can use that and secure the RS2 pump using another method. Saves a lot of hassle.

What about the pipe actually connecting to the pump ? S2 are push on and use a jubilee clip but I guess I need to buy a banjo connection ??

Yes, you can use a banjo and jubilee or there is part that is designed for the job:-

                  fuel pump

andy i took that non return valve off and fitted it onto 040 pump which it does not come with one. if you run the car without a return valve fuel pressure drops off everytime you start car up you have to keep turning over until fuel comes up the line.
i found this out myself got my fittings on ebay

In theory you could get a banjo and length of hose and make one up but lifes too short, just buy the RS2 hose and do it properly..

Update: so I managed to find an elbow with the thread I needed for the pump, the elbow itself requires a larger diameter hose,is the rs2 hose bigger than the s2 ?

Also is it essential to have a fuel return valve ? The s2 doesn't

                              Bump

Want to fit this as soon as, the question is:

Do I have to fit a return valve to the pump ?

                              Thanks guys
