Bits for the fitting of a GTX 3071 - Queries

    1. Does anyone have any photos of the oil line lines and connectors for the fitting of a GTX3071 .82 to a RS2 Wagner T3 exhaust manifold in an ABY Avant ?

    2. Also where to get a T3 exhaust manifold to turbo gasket ?

    3. Any photos and where to get an suitable hose from an RS4 maf to turbo inlet ?

    4. The is new ground for me, so any pointers, photos, or places to obtain the parts greatly fully received.

    5. If there anything I have left out, as part of fitting this turbo ? The rest of the engine is freshly redone by JP, run in etc. Turbo is the last piece in the jigsaw.

    6. Will look at cone air filters, as it may be the case that the standard S2 / RS2 air box will not fit ? Anyone btdt ?

    7. I'm going ask Dimitri for a generic chip for my engine's spec together with suitable injectors, and the his connector /adaptor for the RS4 maf.

    Any advices ?

    Thanks.

I can take some pics of my GT3071 on the Wagner RS2 evo manifold if it would be useful. Mine is a 3B coupe but I dont think that makes any difference.

I got the MAF to Turbo hose from 034 with the turbo kit but had to extend it to reach the RS2 airbox. I'm guessing the GTX has the bigger inlet, there are 2 sizes of hose available and maybe a "cobra head" one too.

Not speaking from experience, but I believe that that standard airbox will fit.

The turbo to maf hose, speak to Roose they will make you one up custom.

Generic T3 metal gasket that I think you mean?

Oil & water lines I believe 034 supply ready to go, or you can make your own up based on the original ones (cut & weld the flanges etc), or go custom AN type. Don't forget the oil line restrictor if required.

Standard airbox or RS2 airbox will fit (you can see it on mine) but you have to cut a bit off the "foot" and make a little bracket. I have a BMC panel filter in it.

                  Thanks A,

                  Gasket bought.

Will probably give up and buy the 034 kit as it is ready to fit. Have a restrictor, will buy the hose from RS4 MAF to Turbo inlet from Roose or 034.

                  Thanks for input.

Thanks again Newsh for replying, that's what I felt. I couldn't countenance cutting an RS2 box, will keep it for my second Avant.

Going to using a Foam filter of some sort. One that doesn't need oil. Can see it in my mind's eye, but can't think of the brand / name right now.

Anyone any links or suggestions ?

In the meantime, I'll scan through the "show us your engine photos" thread.

                    Thank you.
