Hi, needing some help diagnosing this problem I've got. It's my Audi's 'ACE' 2.0 16v engine, running KE-Motronic.
Car cut out on the road with my girlfriend driving. It was acting like it had run out of fuel, but she managed to get it started again three times, then it just packed in altogether. She got the AA out to it before they dropped it off to me, he checked the spark which was good and managed to get it going by spraying easy start into it, so points to fuel.
I checked supply fuel pressure by slackening the bolt on the meter head after the regulator, plenty pressure, keeps going when you crank it. Then cracked the bolts on the injector lines, nothing out of any 4. Again plenty fuel out of the warm up injector so seems to be going through the meter head, just not being distributed. Checked the codes on the car before I started, only code I got was along the lines of 'MAF no earth'. Assuming that what is equivalent to a modern MAF sensor is built into the unit itself? and is the three pin plug on the side of the meter head?
I've got my hands on a Bosch fuel system pressure tester kit (don't know where to start with it) Can anyone help me diagnose this better before I go looking for a new meter unit?
Cheers
EDIT;
The three pins there are what I am assuming the is the air flow meter (MAF)
