I would say it is the early style composite head gasket that include both non-metal and metal sections. Even the non-metal sections, e.g. the parts iwth the lettering on them, are not really "paper". More of a thin impregnated fibre board.

Rotating the photo, you can see "REINZ" stamped on the fibre board

Nope. Some people are not as knowledgeable as others and will take "paper" to mean paper and nothing else. Personally, I prefer "compostite" and "all metal" because there is less likelihood of mis-understanding.

Dave is right to be pernickety about this as without the correct terminology an unsuspecting owner might haplessly wander into a parts store and accidentally order a stunt gasket made out of 80gsm Zerox paper and mashed potato

With a smear of instant gasket it might work

Ok, great. So, can anyone show me where to buy a mashed potato head gasket for AAN or ABY?

Thanks for that. Definitely learned something. (Use ARP bolt/nut lube on ARP studs and nuts).

And peanut butter? It's good on toast with a sliced banana.
