Engine/turbo help questions ..

Ok desperately trying to get the car ready for the RR day i roadtested the car today and i have a couple of issues

i have never had a homefried car before so the questions may sound dumb

Every time i boost and change gear i get the loud dump valve sound , i checked the valve and it had an aftermarket bailey valve on it so i have replaced it with an original valve but it seems the same ?

when boosting the gauge read approx 1.2 bar most of the time , a couple of times this dropped and only came up to 1 bar - what should it read on a homefry and should it be consistent

can i reverse a homefry?

What air filter / air box or cone are you running?

Make sure that you have the DV the correct way around (nipple should be horizontal) and that the nipple is connected to the IM at the front.

You can indeed reverse a Homefry but you don't need to and it's a decent enough chipset for a stockish ABY.

standard airbox and filter , dv is connected as you describe , from the graph i guess my 1.3 bar is normal

Have you got an RS2 IC?

You'll only really see 1.5 Bar if you give it WOT from 2500 rpm in 4th/5th/6th

I thought homefry was 1.2 bar in 1st-4th then in 5&6 it was 1.4bar.... I think but I can't be sure. The Baileys unit should be fine. I have had one on for years

i have only seen 1.3 max , i think its standard IC i cant tell

Yeh mine only does 1.3 I think mind you I don't usually get the chance to try reach that on the roads I use anymore

why so noisy though the constant woosh woosh woosh noise SUCKS

Mines not that loud. Maybe yours is different. Standard ones aren't atmospheric (?) and maybe the one you have is. Mines just a forged version of a standard one but made by baileys

na they are both non atmospheric but still lots of whoosh whoosh compared to my old non chipped s2

You are producing 0.5-0.7 bar more, so it will be a little louder.
