Well this is interesting, I started on v stream chips which were not bad, I just found mpg had gone to the low 20s, I then did the resistor mod and have to say the car felt noticeably smoother but still low mpg. I then got one of spinks ts chip setups and the car is perfect.
I drive it mostly in town rarely hitting any boost and mpg has gone up, when I want to go quick it boosts to 2 bar and you just hang on for life.
There has been a few times where I've had to run 95 Ron but as I deliberately don't hit boost with this in I don't anticipate it being an issue. When I put 97, 98 in it does run smoother.
Personally think whilst the ecu is open to install the chips you might as well do the resistor mod, it costs pennies from maplins and you'll have to solder in a new map sensor anyway.
Just my 2p talking from experience not guess work

mine's producing 350+ bhp from 5500 upwards at about 1.4-1.5 Bar and 1.9 midrange, so torque would be lower but power the same... Boost is not constant on an RS2 turbo; it's just not large enough.
