This is tight as you like. I've been bouncing my 95kg girth on the end of a 2' breaker bar and it's not doing anything... waiting for some more mass to arrive now.

You are going to need more like 2M of leverage. You need to slip something over the breaker bar like a trolley jack handle or a scaffold tube!

Keeping the engine on the ground is proving the biggest problem

Yep that's what I do, 2m scaffold tube over the breaker bar, still takes some pulling..

            Andy,

When the engine is out, I use the weight of the engine against itself i.e. I put the mount on the exhaust side put some bricks under the mount and the front pulley to hold the engine level ish.. hold the bar horizontal to the engine, on the same side as the engine mount and give it some stick...

            Darren.

that's how I did mine, albeit using a large piece of railway sleeper under the engine mount. Also heat the bolt up it will soften the thread lock compound

                GOT IT!!!

Only took 3 men, some heat and the front leg of an engine crane

Bent the breaker bar in the process

I used a trolley jack to prop up the engine mount and then put an axle stand under the breaker bar, to provide a reaction to me pressing downwards on it. Heath Robinson would have been proud

Yeah. Sump plug now, its taken over a metre of leverage without budging
