I personally don't fit Garrett on anything anymore though. It's like a lottery. Sometimes you get lucky and they last for a long time and give no problems, but often you don't.
Which turbos are the choice then, as I've always imagined Garretts being reliable.

This is a good thread; it's very relevant to my current research.

I've been leaning toward an HTA3576 or 3582 in a .82AR (granted this is for a 2.5L stroker with w/m).

What's the consensus on Precision? What's the comparable size for a 35r? I'd wager a 5858? Or more like 6262?

Considering the weight of your car I can very well appreciate that.
It really depends on the chassis with these engines as well. A 1200kg car with 500 hp is much faster to drive than a 1700kg car with 600

you can go for GTX3576r i think is the optimal variant for a street car.

Don't forget w/m injection. Dynos measure inlet temps at the air pickup, not at the manifold. A fan usually does not cool as well as having the car on the open road, so chemical intercooling always gives way higher numbers on the dyno (same experience for me, I always get higher numbers as well).
The car is still faster on the road of course, but the numbers get a little over-exaggerated compared to non-chemically intercooled cars as a result of these peculiarities IMO.

I must be a lucky one, quite happy with mine early spool and 480 from a GT3071.82 I honestly think anything bigger would spoil it.

Much difference if it were a stroker?

4500 is optimistic IME, more like 4700.

After 500hp these cars at standard displacement are just straight line drag race cars.
    Not very much practical use.

Its not a street car then.

Its simple. If your aim is 600+ then you loose the fast responce. Your car will wake up after 4500rpm at least on every gear. Making the head better usually delays boost but gets more torque everywhere.
