Are they better made? no
do they make more bhp and spool better? yes
Compturbo have quality issues thats why you must buy via a dealer and not direct who can sort any issues before the turbo gets to you, this has been the failing of a few, those that bought via Repo or Kai haven't had many issues at all.
Bought mine via KRB and Kai is a top bloke ( he has a 1000 bhp white quattro running at 10.3 CR btw )
But again I really think 600 bhp aim in a quattro is a big mistake but then it's not my money!
Having seen and heard Djones at around 470 bhp for the weight this circa 500 bhp is perfect for the car in terms of engine response and power. Push above this and you it becomes a chore to drive. I feel this was the downfall of a few projects aiming too high in bhp

Count me in as a happy Comp Turbo owner. I have a CT43-6768 BR billet compressor, triple ceramic ball bearing turbo that paired with my 2.5 stroker provide all kinds of excitement. The last dyno run came in at 755hp at the wheels. At 4000 rpm its pulling about 228 ft/lbs of torque, at 4500 its 352 ft/lbs and at 5000 its 668 ft/lbs. Yes, all hell is breaking loose. It now has a billet compressor and I have not dynoed it with the lighter/slightly bigger blower. We're also adding all kinds of stiffening and a billet crank so stay tuned.

I think in general for turbos, most commonly and reliably used have been KKK, Garrett and Holset? Seen some pretty scary stuff with other turbo makes on here!

So are the comp turbo better made the garret turbos and if so what one would be good for 600hp?
And a link from where to buy would be usefull.Leave a comment:
