whats the average shopping list for this sort of spec (excluding brakes/clutch) I have read a few threads with varying results options and im trying to weigh everything up

baring in mind if it happened id want to ensure the silly items are taken care of

You can do that on stock bottom end if you map it correctly to avoid the torque surge, so on a budget really you just bigger intercooler, RS2 or ported stock manifold (a la JP), K26/27 hybrid, some injectors and map.

Or bullet proof build with all ancillaries to achieve OEM reliability = lots of money.

You can map a big turbo on a stock engine with a few tweaks to that level but there's no margin for error.

Bottom end is about 2k upwards, turbo, injectors and manifold 2k new, ic 500, exhaust 1k, remap 500...

It depends if the engine is in good technical condition to handle the power - that's a cost, or if the engine is worn out, then the rebuild engine cost will higher the price considerably, as I have found out on my own skin

It would have to be a full build if i did it , rusty's 6k estimate has doubled my expectation for a 150 more horses :-/ and rs6 would put me in that category straight away hmmmmmm

RS6 would not be the same "rip your nuts off" fun though. Do you want the suspension and gbox hassles of an RS6? THey do look the nuts though ha ha.

I have been umming and ahhing about this since I got mine but now convinced myself that 350odd useable RS2+ spec power is the happy medium (until tomorrow when a GT2 pokes fun at me)

if i could have achieved it for 3k i think i would be taking the for sale sign down , however i love rs6's most have had the g box's changed , suspension too , for me i can deal with the rest

The RS6 dream lasted 3 months for me.

You need alot of power to make them feel fast and the Auto gear box seriously sucks

every says erghh auto , i actually quite like an auto my touran dsg is awesome , I know the rs6's boxes arnt like that ....but still....

maybe it is just a dream but so is a 450 hp s2 with an engine build at 6k :-/
