      CPS, crank position sensor...

I don't think the 7a measures inlet temp just the air mass, however the MAF would need some sort of compensation for air temps alright must check

Having tried debugging this by changing parts I'm at the point I might just drop in this chipper AAN in, other than plumbing up a intercooler and reworking the loom alittle does anyone else know any fobbels to a AAN swap

Sounds like a sensor problem. Water temp on back of head perhaps. Have you tried reading values from it ?

#1 shows measured temperature + 50 - if it is outside 85-160, G62 is the prime suspect. I _think_ from memory it is the one placed at the back of the head.

You can use the later bolt through style sensors in place of the one piece info and pn#'s here http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=46026
FWIW my 90q 20v feels the same way I plan on changing the knock sensors and swapping in a different TPS/throttle body.

Tried the water sensor with a different one still no fix. Checked the spark and seems alittle weak so changed coil but no fix so will check its earth again and maybe the dizzy.

how do I read those figures quoted on the link tscheel?

You need vagcom on a laptop and a cable.

With vagcom when I tried the measuring blocks I got nothing... All I could do was look for fault codes. Perhaps I should try my other ECU at this point

Error I would agree but it happens a on part throttle aswell and I can't find my spare... Maybe ill check the operating range with my multimeter however

Odd.. I have an very old vagcom version with "extras" which sometimes work, sometimes not. Maybe the free version is limited to fault codes?

Changed the crank sensors and cleaned the MAF no fix, switch ecu still nothing and tested the output range on the tps which is fine. Going try swapping the dizzy next
