    Turbo studs...

Can they be replaced just like any other stud? As you can see, the nut just didnt want to play ball...

Yeah but getting them out is another matter! Use the two nut on the stud to remove or a stud removal tool

Looks like you could probably clean that up with a thread restorer or die. Save you the hassle of pulling the stud.

The other end is flared so having it that way restricts flow quite badly. And on the corrugated pipe there is a arrow stamped somewhere indicating direction of flow too.

weld a huge nut on there and back the stud out while its still hot, works like a charm

I'd always ditch that flexi for after market given than it goes from 2" to 1" and seriously restricts flow

Ditch it for what, a straight section made up by an exhaust place or is there somewhere you can buy off the shelf?

Whatever it's replaced with must be flexible to allow for expansion, otherwise the heat cycles will crack the manifold and/or down pipe. Unless your going for serious power and the mods that go with it I'd just turn it round the correct way and wouldn't worry about it, sure it creates a bit of back pressure but if this was a problem the engineers designing the exhaust system wouldn't have put it there.

Nowt wrong with the stock flexi if you are on the standard turbo, even RS2 its not a problem so I wouldn't bother. Yours does look pretty gnarled up though, so needs a bit of TLC by the looks.
