    ACE rocker cover gasket

    Hi all

I'm needing to change the rocker cover gasket on my 1994 2.0 16v ACE engined Coupe. The inlet manifold & fuel lines go over the top of the cover so these will obviously need to be removed. My mate, who is handy with the spanners is going to give me a hand as part of a service but am looking for some help/advice on how difficult this job might be and any known pitfalls I need to look out for/avoid.

I'm intending to replace the injector rings as i's likely they have hardened and may also be part of a starting issue I have. Should I be spraying the bolt heads with WD40 for a few days before working on it or is that not going to help with the heat of the engine likely to burn this off?

I've always done rocker gaskets myself before but have never had a car where the inlet manifold gets in the way.

Cheers in advance for any help/advice.

I used this rocker gasket recently from Euro Car Parts: 368440380

It came with all the parts mentioned above, fitted fine and stopped my leak. I'd suggest a smear of silicon on the half moons. Can't say if it was a quality brand. Cost £26 at the moment.

Got my off ebay complete head gasket set for £38 from memory and thing they do rover cover for 13 quid. As mentioned smear some sealer around the gasket especially the part that fits the plugs. WD the bolts holding the inlet manifold and take your time not to round them off, best to try to tighten them then undo not just undo.
