    fly by wire trottle s6

hi i beleave the 20vt s6 {1996} do not use a throttle cable , instead its done with electric sensors , has any one transferd this set up to a s2/rs2 . our the sensors and throttle activator all light weight , im thinking it could save a bit of weight and if i go with motec it can be used

AAN is still a conventional throttle cable. I think the later vr6 throttle bodies are dbw and can be fitted with an adaptor plate.

Umm....NO! And besides, drive-by-wire throttle is awful. Makes no sense to convert from cable, especially if the reason is to save weight.

Disagree, you can do a lot of cool things with it, which you can't do with the regular one.
Including not needing high revs when car is started from cold and not needing an ISV.

Sure. I recently bought a drive-by-wire vehicle for my wife and it just about killed us due to lack of immediate throttle response, so, yes, it is awful.

No such problem on Audi/VW, BMW, Mercedes.
                        Your car is just broken.

thanks prj , the reason i asked the question is because i was speaking to keith at diaylnx and he runs it on his 1.4 turbo audi 80 race car for the last 2 years without any issues, he said it works great with motec .

Hmm.... this would clean the engine bay up even more if it was drive by wire.... Wonder if there is a throttle body that would mount up to AAN intake manifold and work with VEMS....
