    Stroker spec thread

So I have been using the search, but there is some questions I'm not sure about. Espeacilly about some needed parts to use, if part numbers are available please share. This is maybe for some future build, I don't know if I even will made it at all..? Got a set of new forged pistons for a cheap price. They are custom made for a stoker setup. Got also a Volvo/Audi AEL diesel block and crank. 155mm rods, but maybe I would skim(1-2mm) the pistons a bit to lower the CR, but then I would need to skim the block also. No issues wih that?

    1. What oilpump to use? I have AAN, 7A and AEL pumps.

    2. Waterpump?

    3. Timing belt? RS2?

    4. Timing belt tensioner?

So on a UrS4 I'll guess the AAN damper is needed to be used. How about the crank balancing? Crank is heavy, and rods propably gona be lighter than the diesel rods.

I think you will need to use 3B/7A oil pump & water pump unless you can make a custom belt tensioner system, as I don't think you can use a AAN tensioner on the diesel block (not enough material to tap before you hit the water jacket). Custom self-adjusting tensioner like JP did on his stroker would be preferable as it stops the belt flap

I think a full bottom end balance would be best anyway, plus you can probably take some weight from heavier diesel crank

Why the people called Tomas buys stroker parts if they really are not to going to build any or at least in short periods of time?

Ok, so with the 7A oilpump the belt tension is adjusted with the waterpump?

Tomas, everything got out of hands because of these dam shiny things. I'm like a magpie... can't resist any shiny objects... especially if they are billet aluminium.

Only need to see your avatar...

Once upon a time I was collecting old audi crankshafts...

Maybe you'll have it finished in 2/3 years

My case was worst too... Wanted to build a new forged engine, luckily bought Peter Nanassy ( RIP mate ) last forum desire ,then appeared my PK-M engine, the rest of the history is well known now is useless and none wants to buy it, I only hope to don't ending building it

          Good luck

Use an oilpump from a -91 VW transporter. It has a tension adjuster fitted to the oil pump

Are the diesel and gasoline oilpump internals identical? Can you swap them?

Surely a Diesel oil pump will object to spinning at 7,000 RPM?

yeah it must displace more volume due to lower rpm. Maybe you can fit the petrol gears in the diesel housing?

This is the same pump used on a 2.5tdi a6 c4

Why must it displace more volume? A diesel engine at 4000 doesn't need more oil then a petrol at 4000

The 2.5 petrol engine(code AAF uses this oil pump/pulley setup).

Why would it object? Same construction as all the other (petrol) pumps.

Have used this pump without any problems. Had 1500km of track day action this year only so it has seen some high rpm over the last years

I thought the diesel oil pump must flow more than petrol, as the diesel piston cooling jets are larger bore, they drop oil pressure on petrol engines. So unless the diesel runs less oil pressure, it needs more flow to produce the same pressure
But good to hear it works fine afterall
