    Racing turbo KKK 26/27/29 details

    Hi y'all,

Well, I just thought I'd pass the info on, it could be interesting for some of you.

I can now source brand new K26/27/29 racing turbochargers, that are brand new, no rebuilds, for 1600 Euros +shipping. The turbos contain racing thrust bearings (360 degree) and are the state of the art of triple-K's engineering for our cars. They are made of a K26 hot side (#6/#8/#9 housings and turbines available) and watercooled bearing housing, K27 compressor housing (fits an RS2 EM with no interference problems) and a racing K29 compressor wheel.

Interesting details: on ABYs/ADUs they are a complete bolt-on, no need to swap or adapt oil/water feed lines, everything fits. The same applies for 3Bs with ABY water/oil feed lines of course, otherwise an adapter plate has to be fabricated for the oil feed line.

    The turbos are available with:

-K26#6 turbine and hot side housing (full boost at about 3kRPM), maximum HP on RS2 EM: 390 safe and reliable HP and about 520-540Nm of torque

-K26#8 turbine and hot side housing, 0.7 Bar at 3k RPM, peak torque around 4k with 2 Bar overboost and maximum HP on RS2 EM with good exhaust and no cats: 420+ HP and 540 Nm of torque

-K26#10 turbine and hot side housing for SQ or MTM S1 EM (or tubular), pulls from 3.5k and full boost at about 4kRPM, maximum HP can go up to 480HP/torque 645 Nm @ 4100 RPM (warning, big injectors and serious engine work is necessary). (I've just edited that because I was mistaken between this beast and a K27/29 with magnesium compressor wheel that can go up to 560HP)

The #6 and #8 hot side turbos work fine with RS2 injectors on 4.5 bar fuel pressure (though I can also supply different injectors for less money than the RS2s with similar or higher flow), the #9 works optimally with 600cc injectors (available from me too) and 4 Bar fuel pressure. Bosch Motorsport fuel pumps are recommended!

Custom remapping is available too of course, otherwise there's no real chance to take advantage of these turbos. The #9 hot side might work even better (lower RPM boost) with a 2.5l bottom end that flows more exhaust gasses, thus spools the turbine earlier.

The turbos only require a special metal pipe for the compressor inlet (available from me too), of course an RS2 intercooler is a lot better for those setups, but bigger is good too of course

    Cheers all,

    Mihnea

    Good to know, Mihnea.

I may be interested in it in a near future. Depending on results of my ongoing "low rpm torque" project I don't know if I will need #8 or can go for a #9 turbine wheel yet.

Would be very usefull, anyway, to have the turbo map for the K27-29 wheel, to figure out overall boost and flow capability of new setup.

Marco, sorry but I'm not sure I can get a compressor map for these ones.... I'll ask but I really don't know....

Doug, its about the same size, your old hoses will fit on mate! Slightly larger but it will be ok

Well, it's even better, with these particular turbos, the compressor outlet is the same size as an RS2, thus no worries to be made!

Maybe its a dumb question but, what do those numbers stand for? like 26/27/29? and #6 #8 #10?

Im planning to make my own exhaust manifold, want to make something where the 5 pipes join into one. And also planning another turbo, i guess those numbers will come in handy

Does anybody know if there are any blueprints of the flanges ?

And, do all those different types cost the same ?

Cees, those numbers are KKK's numbering system for turbo sizes. Your RS2 turbo for instance is catalogued as a K24 turbo but it is all made of K26 parts.

The K26/27/29 turbo is a complete bolt-on for your car and with the #8 hot side housing and turbine. The #6,8 and 10 numbers reflect the turbine scroll volume in cubic centimeters, the bigger the better for higher exhaust gas flow and thus HP but very big also means slow spool-up and lag!

In my opinion there isn't any use to a tubular header before at least 500 HP, which the RS2 stock bottom end can't handle anyway, so why not give this turbo a shot if you want 120 HP more than stock? All stock RS2's I've dynoed so far only made 300 HP by the way!

                  Cheers,

                  Mihnea

Was planning to install it this winter.

Now that be interesting to see, it popped up in a search because Mihnea mention 2.5l ( stroker ). I know Cees had good results back in the day think it was 530 bhp

I don't expect much more then breaking the 400 hp mark. Since it has the small exhaust housing.
