Impressive - with earlier spool than stock RS2 I presume ?

This is something I'm looking forward to seeing... my hybrid unit is in theory capable of similar figures, albeit with a little later spool, but in reality I think I'm seeing around 400 crank. Or maybe it's just feeling slow to me now

I'm planning to do a dyno run some time soon to compare. I could be tempted into a turbo swap if it out performs it by much.

Nope, bigger and slightly laggier as I understand, he does a billet RS2 turbo though.

            k26 billet

Same service as our popular rs2 turbo but utilizing the bigger turbine found in some k26 models. This makes for a turbo that can breath up top and not drop off near readline. The billet compressor flows 40lbs/min and we have seen 320whp on prepared engines. Slightly more lag than rs2 turbos, but the topend makes up for the loss down low. Expect 25psi by around 3600 at sea levels on setups with high flow intakes and exhaust.
            Billet RS2

Billet RS2 offers a 17% increase in flow while improving spool characteristics. The lightweight modern compressor design coupled with the light K24 7200 turbine makes for a torque monster. We have seen 430 crank hp on well prepared cars. Core charge of 500$ will be refunded when an rs2 7200 has been shipped back to us with the turbine/shaft in good shape.
The billet k26 looks really good for $850, I just cant make up my mind between more power or instant response.

Thanks - I was talking about stock RS2 turbo vs Billet RS2 - looks pretty good to me.
Less lag. Similar torque profile and More headroom at rpm should make 400bhp.

Guess it needs RS2 or 7A ex cam to get the best out of it.

Question is does a stock K24-7000 from S2 engine qualify as a suitable core ?

That is the reason i was thinking of the swap. On their website says they need the K24-7200 with shaft and turbine in good condition. My guess is that the core is not that valuable to them.

I expect you are correct on that about the S2 core being unsuitable.

I've tried to contact Iroz about the billet RS2 but not response on email or Facebook. Is there anyone in the UK who makes these?

My problem is that I have a fairly new (< 10k miles) RS2 turbo which a) I could probably still sell for a fair bit and b) don't really want to ship over to the US!

I think Will @ VRS does billet wheels for the RS2 unit also.

yes we do a rs2 billet conversion . 2 types standard with 360 bearing and cut back blades with billet wheel and the other type has bigger k26 exhaust wheel and housing with the same mods.

A little data for our turbos...

The dotted line is a HTA3076r which actually has a smaller inducer than the regular 30r, but retains 76mm on the exducer. e85 on 25psi, my tube header, full 3" exhaust, IIc, ect. This compressor is 30 grams lighter(almost 35% lighter) and smaller rotational intertia. It regularly outspools typical 30r's by 200-300 rpm.

The other line is a billet k26 on e85 with an rs2 manifold and 3" exhaust on Vems at 29.5psi. Give the 3076r a little bit of a break, as it is barely breathing at 25psi, and it will make more than 500whp at 33-34psi, but the spool difference is why I posted the picture. The k26 is basically being run wide open, and doesn't have a lot more to give.

3rd gear pulls on the same dyno within a couple days of eachother. Both stock piston, rod'ed motors with 7a cams and stock heads. The blue lines are torque, and they correspond directly with boost pressure.

The RS2 with our wheel on it spools about 450rpm sooner than the k26, will easily see 400wtq but starts to taper off towards 6500 as turbine flow gets choked by the smaller turbine and housing.

If you have an RS2, I'd modify that one. We are working with Borg to get 7200 turbines separate so we can make rs2 billets from k26s and cut the end price down. For now, we are in limbo needing cores shipped to us to modify the compressor housing and balance the assmebly along with the new parts.

Hi Will, how much would the conversion cost out of a RS2 in good condition. Is it possible to be done with only the core of a RS2 as we have one available.
