A cone filter will make the stock diverter valve much more audible but their generally more trouble than their worth in my experience.

wow got any more of the secret tuning tips?
but crazy idea about the speaker... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWrnirR7Zks
i think hes gonna do it when he can drive a car...Comment

rxl. i guess your speaking about me. I am old enough to drive. And i drive pretty damn well on road and on tracks. Yes, i do have what you might call a "rice'd car" which means "Racing Inspired, Cosmetically Enhanced" as i have a supra aswell. But as that is not the subject of this thread, and according to what i've heard about this forum actually being serious, i thought i would bring my question here. Instead i appariently get met by childrish people who immediately sees a golden moment to act cool. geesh.Comment

i ment the guy in video and not you..i apoligise if you did feel attacked by my post... anyway if you ask me i had a blow off and it was something i would not recomend... the speaker is a better option if you want sound... if you build a pop of or blow off it will reduce the power lever of the car and makes only sound... like they say the dog that barks does not biterxl. i guess your speaking about me. ... if you got standalone ecu and dont use maf its another diference...
so use a divertable valve and get a speaker..

ill skip the speaker idear. but thanks for the other info though. is there any recommended diverter valve that actually makes a pretty loud sound?
i am using the stock air box and filter due to the better flow in the stock system than just a pod filter.Comment
-
dont think that a div valve is loud... that is way people do build there pop off.. when the air gets dumped in the atmosphere it makes a sound..Comment
-
like it said you lose 50% of the air that shoud be redirected... and its again a loss of the power becouse you need to compensate the loss of air... and the turbo lags again...
i think divertable is the best solution if you want the car to run properly..Comment

like the man said... and he know whats hes talking about..Comment

allright. so a valve like this one: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Go-F...Blow-Off-Valve
woudnt be worth using in any way? i am gonna make some new pressure piping anyways.Comment

what a price.. and only for the sound... your going to do it so do it... and write later how it works...allright. so a valve like this one: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Go-F...Blow-Off-Valve
