    Garret GT 3071 R

Can somebody tell me what power and what spool up I will get with this turbo on my RS2 with full 3" exhaust.
I would like to get 1.8 bar at 2500t/mm and about 380 to 400 hp max
I want a really easy druving car Full of power from low to high end with as less as possible of lag for rally style driving ( if I'm able to).
Will also move to front IM to reduce lag.

Here is a link with the flow maps
RS2 chip by mihnea,PKM short IM, forge dump valve, 3" custom stainless exhaust, 18"X8" Porsche 996 rims, conti contact 245/35 Front 225/40 Rear, QR sport top mount, Powerflex bushes, aloy sub frame bushes, neuspeed 19mm RARB,Hard tranny mount, V8 torsen on RS2

Sounds optimistic to have 1,8bar at 2500 RPM. Though once seen with rs2 turbo 2bar at 2700 RPM. Pekka´s project has a recembling turbo you are suggesting, but I think he has 0,7 AR for cold side pressure housing. Pekka will probably post some pictures later from his S2 setup.

Soon there will be results from this in RS2
    Garrett / ATPturbo GT2871R

And from Pekka´s Turbo, which also is from ATP

OK will try to look at specifics and map calculations later today, but I doubt your desire for 1.8bar at 2500 and ~400bhp can be had here. Just a gut feel now.

A well sorted RS2 installation, with a good intercooler, exhaust and the right cams will get you ~380bhp at the top end and have decent torque in the 2500-3000rpm area. It seems you would be spending LOTS of money on this turbo and some considerable headaches along the way to install it.

You *really* need to decide what is most important to you on this - the 400bhp target or maximum torque at 2500 rpm. A firm answer on that will help you decide the right turbo.

Hey - I think you already have a very decent setup. The top end might be limited to ~380bhp but some creative intercooling, may just be enough to get you nearer the 400bhp barrier... With a mega exhaust, and the right cams. Considered a separate WG pipe yet ?

Its just that Garrett is LOTS of money that is hard to justify in my mind for such a small gain.

          Just my tuppence...

I thought that with a dual ball bearing of the good size I could get the same power than with a RS2 one ( about 380 hp), less lag and spool up about 500 T/mn earlier.
Also the dual ball bearing should get better top as it as more free wheels

I alredy have a turbo to back 3" exhaust but your right I'm thinking of separate waste gate pipe.

my turbo start to be more and more noisy so may be on it's way that's why i'm looking for some good new option's.Also the car use some oil.
may be the old 150 000 k K24 does not like the speed is got to spin to get those 2.1bar

I also mailed EFI 34 to see if it was possible to get a GT 3071R with a hot side housing of a K24 to keep my RS2 EM

You *can* get Garrett/KKK hybrids from them and others. However, don't forget your hotside is probably your limiting factor at the top end. Plus you'll end with a T3 based CHRA which will need adapters for oil and water lines.

Isnt it possible to get this kind of hp,400 hp, and a lot of torque at low rpms out of an rs2 turbo with a good exhaust (maybe seperate wastegate pipe), bigger intercooler, Better IM (inlet on frontside), both 7a cams, rs2 EM(or even a custom made) and ofcourse remap from Mihnea.

Erikb this is my set up exept for the bigger intercooler but this one will add more lag and it's not the way i want to go.

I think my car as know about 62 mKg and around 370hp

hmm, I thought the 370 - 380 could be archieved with just RS2 turbo, RS2 manifold, RS2 IC, remap and bigger exhaust. Adding the 7a cams, bigger intercooler, extra exhaust wg pipe, front IM and high flow EM would maybe bring you to 390-400.

I think by replacing the standard IM by a front IM you will reduce the lag even with a bigger IC.

You are technically improving throttle response with a front IM because you are reducing intake plumbing...to reduce lag, you'd need the proper diameter plumbing before and after the IC and to the throttle body.
