ABY - Lazy Boost v Energetic Boost ?

My ABY Avant boosts everytime, which I suppose I should be grateful for, :roll eyes: but sometimes it boosts in a very spirited fashion, i.e. no more peak boost than every other time, but it is like as if it's boosting with increased timing or something ?

Homefried. Feels like an extra 30bhp maybe I suppose if I have to quantify it.

Is it my imagination or could this be happening ?

No rhyme or reason to it. Always use the same petrol from the same garage, so that's a constant.

Any thoughts on what it could be ?

    Thanks.

I am sure prj will enlighten us but as I understand it, the amount of boost that the ECU dials in and the rate at which that boost is increased via the WGFV is a function of intake air temps, throttle position, rate of throttle position change, rpm, road speed (with road speed and rpm it might figure out which gear you are in), etc. etc. Bottomline: If you are in a different gear you will get a different rate when you floor it that if you were in another gear. Different day (air temp = change in intake temp) = change in rate of boost rise.
