WHERE is the ECU on my 3B? And what chips are these?

Almost wincing that I'm asking...I've seen guides all over the net but no definitive answer...

So, in a late model 3B S2....Is the ECU in the same place as here:-

or is it some place else?

Also...Does anybody know what these chips are?

No cheap junk says the Advert....

    Super appreciate any assistance.

Tempting butchone and thanks very much for the offer - at that price it'll be snapped up. My biggest issue at this point is finding out exactly how to find the ECU in order to chip it. Hot clues appreciated (ie the location of).

Take out the panel below the glove box in the passenger footwell and pull off/ unscrew the white clip at the back, it's up behind the heater box, if it's not been out before you'll have a bit of a struggle

            Do not buy from e-bay.

Superchips also not a good idea IMO because all they did was add a bit of fuel and fitted a massive bolt to the wastegate and screwed that down.
I'm sorry, I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but that's just how it is.

I have a set of chips for the 3B/RR. I ran them for a couple of years with no issues and they pull well on the standard setup. They dyno'd at 270 ish.
£75 delivered to the UK. The ECU is easy to locate behind the glove box as mentioned. Take care opening it up if you're not familiar with them.

I am very happy with my homefried ECU from Paul (S2central).
But I've also heard that PRJ can do some magic with the motronic

Even if it's "just" a chip tune, it's worth doing right. You don't really save anything by buying one of ebay. They are not all the same!
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

In the end and with a slight struggle, the ECU came out. Whatever the chips were (from some guy in Deutschland known as 'Professor Quattro'), there is no doubting she runs mighty fine. More responsive and the boost is definitely up a little.....As if somebody just bolted another 500cc on....That said, driving steady is just the same if not even nicer. +50 PS claimed. Not bad from a couple of microschips. No other mods at all.
                    Fun.
