New Video
So I've added an external mic to the camera, and made another video. Although the sounds not perfect, its better, but being an open cockpit I'm not gonna cut all of the wind sound out.
I am pretty sure the ECU chips I have need a 300kpa MAP sensor as when I get up to about 4500 I seem to loose boost. If I get a chance I'll run her with the WG valve disconnected and see how that goes. The boost gauge I ordered arrived today, but is knackered, typical!!

I only had her up to 3300 rpm, and that was ballistic, remember it's only about 720kg.....

Would be good to get it fettled properly on stock chips... I can help you with a nice upgrade when it stops scaring you in stock mode ;-)Leave a comment:

...they are the ones that came with the ecu when I purchased the engine....
I'm trying to get back to standard as a benchmark that's gonna be scary enough!Leave a comment:

Just catching up with this thread properly - good to see a 20VT in something unusual... but I really hate those kind of fuseboxes - I winced when I saw the pic on page 1... then 5 pages later find you had a dicky connection there - those pre-insulated spade plugs are the devil's invention.Leave a comment:

Ah!
I wondered if you had noticed that. Think that variant is an UrS4 rather than S6. As both run the same hardware its not an issue. Its just a regular upgrade to the limit of the hardware.
Despite being labelled as 87C the programmer did flag up they were 27C. I have compared the data and its identical.
In my defence I could only work with what I was given!
Obviously if we can scare up a stock set of chips or even just a genuine 87C then we can sort the issue out if you don't want to run that other board.Leave a comment:

G22 bit solved...
I have ran the engine up with the G22 connected direct to the ECU and VCDS-Lite connected, speed changes so G22 issue all closed!
On another note, I looked at the engine codes provided by the Nero chips, this gives 4A0 907 551 AA, which I think is an S6 2.2 engine, not sure if that is supposed to run with the 250 or 300kpa sensor so I need to search for that.
Unfortunately that 87C EEprom from china hasn't worked (The turbo chip) although the 27C worked perfectly with the Nero turbo chip left in. Robin did a great job of shooting standard code into them but it appears the 87C just isn't fit for purpose. I didn't want to risk running with the Std motor chip (27C) and the Nero Turbo chip as I'm not sure how much they interact so I have put the Nero pair back in.
I have a latch adapter on the way so will also be giving that a go when it gets here. Nothing like a bit of trial and error!!Leave a comment:

Thanks for the link, I have also been reading through on Paul's simulator page where he did a lot of work on the VSS... I have ordered a received a UAF2115, I just need to find details and time to mock it up and see if it works.

G22 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) info
Unfortunately, I don't know what happens when the G22 VSS signal passes through the G21 speedometer (so good luck). However, I can offer this info in case you missed it:... and look at any fault codes... which by the way I did have one, Speed Sensor - No signal. I have connected the speed sensor direct to the ECU and not via the dashboard, I don't have one. I may need to add some circuit wizardry to this to make it work as expected, but I'll be posting that later.

OBD up and working...
I've added a standard 16pin OBD connection to the loom (That by the way I have also added the MIL light to) so I have a simple blackbox that I can leave installed and connected to the OBDII plug, but I can unplug that and plug in my laptop with VCDS-Lite and look at any fault codes... which by the way I did have one, Speed Sensor - No signal.

Congrats on the MOT pass.
Unfortunately the wind noise on the video totally kills it for me.
